Lake Mead Hard Water Wear on Toilet Parts
Henderson receives the same Lake Mead water as the rest of the Las Vegas Valley, and its mineral content collects in siphon jets and rim holes, weakening the flush. It also wears out flappers, fill valves, and seals faster than softer water would. Running toilets and weak flushes are common results.
